ok 3662gc+1 sand  bomb drop in 20 mins.

10kgc+ p/h and <2kgc of healing potions p/h @ 80 a/d.

Serping the map with high wep would give even more gc. I'd say it's plenty now. Tongue

Ok i've just tested that map @ 80 a/d on a build i would consider mediocre:

The difficulty of the creatures is fine.
The exp gain is fine.
I'll admit that the gc drops could come up a bit.

I used 25 GHPs (i actually used 27 or 28, but got 2-3 GHP drops.)
25GHP=625gc
At time of screenie i had 1299gc so 1299 - 625 = 674gc profit.

I agree that even people who haven't got the greatest PvE-training build need to be getting more gc in drops than this, i'll increase the gc drops significantly.

Tbh... try train with 80/80 and any build on mob like spider, slessar, leopard, goblin Tongue THey critic only some lower than bosses :/ anyway they all have over 120's a/d or what? they r much powerfull and anyway they drop not a lot :/ (i mean mobs not bosses)
Even if someone takes a fairly fail-build, at 80 a/d they could still use the Ice map and still make decent exp.

On a good build at 80/80 a/d all mobs on the 2nd last map can be trained fine except perhaps the spiders, and that's because they're ~mid 80's a/d.

iirc on a very good PvE-training build even the spiders can be trained ok at 80/80.

In regards to drops, again when i've tested the drops were fine on those creatures, good profit was being made.

(A sidenote: i've just recently increased the gc drop of a lot of lower creatures though)

Well, of course, some generic healing spell would give those opponents the same advantage, so the result would be the same.

I am considering some things to give a one off big health boost (by one off i mean once per fight, so it could be an item (still cheap so everyone would have) with say 5 minutes cooldown), just to make the fights generally a little longer and somewhat counter a run of bad luck with lucky/crit hits (to the point where they dictate fight outcome), but without creating a situation were people never die or are too hard to kill. My reasoning for this is that considering we have nothing like rostogol stones it may be annoying to be able to be quickly, repeatedly killed, and at least if the fight is longer it would simulate a feeling of "well i lost stuff but at least i fought long and hard".

I could also just lower the global lucky and crit rates in the combat roll, or make crit-dmg not completely disregard armor, but only disregard 50-70% of it.

All that said, i definitely don't feel i've partaken in and observed the system enough as it stands, and really the only times i've felt i was being killed "too" quickly is when i was being ganged by usually 3+ people (which is how it should be) or fighting one the 'extreme' builds we see players with atm. Thus I don't have plans to implement any of the above atm, especially not while certain other features are still unimplemented, such as a brief freeze effect on opponents when you use a sand bomb.

I still very much welcome any comments/feedback on the PvP or PvE system.

I only can add that QEL needs healing spell:/

Why?

The only healing spell(s) coming will only be powerful for mages. If you believe there's a problem with your current ability to heal as a melee fighter, please elaborate on the issue.
(I'm not saying there's not any issue, but I want to hear why you think there is.)

Added:
  • How do I know which creatures are stronger?
39  General Discussion / General Topics / New NPC's to make testing easier on: 2010-01-24 10:12 (Sun)
Firstly, 'Tim Shaw' (the NPC in town/kidberg01) now sells Sand Bombs @ 100gc each, fyi he also sells Healing Potions.

4 new NPC's have been added to the test server.

These NPC's all drop bags with gear in them, each NPC drops a different tier-set of equipment.
They also have the ability to change your a/d/oa, each NPC being able to change it to something different.

41  General Discussion / Official Announcements / Re: Easy QELServ Installer for Windows on: 2010-01-22 16:16 (Fri)
Installer v0.4-3 released.

Changelog:
  • Support for 64bit editions of Windows (XP/Vista/7).
(Thanks to Koss for testing Smiley )
42  General Discussion / General Topics / Re: Windows Vista (and probably Windows 7) support. on: 2010-01-22 16:11 (Fri)
Awesome, thanks heaps Koss! Cheesy
43  General Discussion / General Topics / Re: Windows Vista (and probably Windows 7) support. on: 2010-01-22 15:54 (Fri)
kk great Koss, but could you try deleting the 3 QELServ icons on your desktop, and try this version of the installer:

www.paradoxcomputers.com.au/stuff/qelserv-installer_0.4-3.exe

first it asks about 2000/xp or vista/7 as before, and then after that it asks about 32bit or 64bit.
44  General Discussion / General Topics / Re: Windows Vista (and probably Windows 7) support. on: 2010-01-22 15:24 (Fri)
also replace the "start in" (iirc that's what it's called) directory... (just below the "Target" field), with:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Eternal Lands"

At the moment, no much i can do for 64bit ppl, but when QELClient comes, support should be better.

edit:
actually, rly all i should need to do is look up the environment variables used in 64bit Windows and make an option for 64bit... will work on it Smiley
45  General Discussion / General Topics / Windows Vista (and probably Windows 7) support. on: 2010-01-22 14:22 (Fri)
The 'Easy Windows Installer' should now support Vista fine (and prolly Windows 7).

If people running either Windows Vista or Windows 7 can try it and just confirm it does work and post here, would be great.
