The 'Easy Windows Installer' should now support Vista fine (and prolly Windows 7).

If people running either Windows Vista or Windows 7 can try it and just confirm it does work and post here, would be great.

Running Windows 7 (64 bit).

Downloaded new package and ran it.
Selected option 2.
The command prompt came up and ran through it's thing.  Pressed a key to close the window.
Icons appeared on the desktop.
Double clicked on QELServ Test Server.
Said it could not find the file "C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\el.exe" qelserv-test
Right clicked and went to properties.
Replaced target with "C:\Program Files (x86)\Eternal Lands\el.exe" qelserv-test
Clicked apply.

Double clicked on icon again, screen came up like this ...

After pressing a key, it's a blank white screen.

Suggestions?

also replace the "start in" (iirc that's what it's called) directory... (just below the "Target" field), with:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Eternal Lands"

At the moment, no much i can do for 64bit ppl, but when QELClient comes, support should be better.

edit:
actually, rly all i should need to do is look up the environment variables used in 64bit Windows and make an option for 64bit... will work on it Smiley

That did it.  Smiley  With a little tinkering, it's working with Windows 7 - 64bit!

Nothing a short 5 step guide couldn't fix on the download post.  Smiley

kk great Koss, but could you try deleting the 3 QELServ icons on your desktop, and try this version of the installer:

www.paradoxcomputers.com.au/stuff/qelserv-installer_0.4-3.exe

first it asks about 2000/xp or vista/7 as before, and then after that it asks about 32bit or 64bit.

Worked perfectly.   Grin
